First Major Renovation Since 1961

Delta College’s Computer Science and Information Technology Wing (K Wing) recently underwent its first major renovation since 1961, transforming the space into a modern learning environment and embracing new technologies. HAV Design worked alongside WTA Architects to develop audiovisual systems that support traditional classroom instruction and evolving technical needs.

The updated classrooms are designed for ease of use and productivity. Interactive laser projection systems allow instructors to engage directly with content, while additional displays and confidence monitors ensure visibility across the room. Integrated cameras, ceiling microphones, and distributed audio systems support high-quality video conferencing, making remote participation seamless.

Rather than overcomplicating the user experience, each room is centered around a teaching station that keeps control simple and consistent. Instructors are now able to easily manage sources, displays, and audio through touch panels or button controls.

Student pods positioned around the room allow for small-group collaborative work, each equipped with dedicated displays and supported with wired and wireless content sharing capabilities. This layout serves students by limiting technical walls so they can engage more directly and seamlessly with their work.

It was a pleasure to work alongside Delta College and WTA Architects to transform sixty-four year old limitations into brand new learning possibilities.
